Christian August Friedrich Garcke (October 25, 1819 - January 10, 1904) was a German botanist who was a native of Bräunrode, Saxony-Anhalt. In 1865 he was appointed curator at the Royal Botanical Museum in Berlin, and in 1871 became an associate professor specializing in pharmacognosy. He was author of the popular Illustrierte Flora von Deutschland (Illustrated Flora of Germany), which was published over several editions. From 1867 to 1882 he was editor of the journal Linnæa. His birthplace in Bräunrode is now a national monument, and is referred to by the name Garckestift.
