It is named after Londonderry, Ireland.[1] Contents 1 Geography 2 Demographics 3 References 4 External links // Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 11.3 square miles (29.4 km²), of which, 11.3 square miles (29.3 km²) of it is land and 0.09% is water. Demographics As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,632 people, 525 households, and 410 families residing in the township. The population density was 144.0 people per square mile (55.6/km²). There were 539 housing units at an average density of 47.6/sq mi (18.4/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 95.53% White, 1.23% African American, 0.55% Asian, 2.27% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.31% of the population. There were 525 households out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.7% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% were non-families. 18.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.33. In the township the population was spread out with 28.2% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 26.4% from 45 to 64, and 7.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 106.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 109.5 males.
