Phillip Arnold Paul is an insane killer who was acquitted by reason of insanity in the 1987 slaying of an elderly woman, whose body he soaked in gasoline to throw off search dogs and buried in her flower garden.[1] In 1991, Paul walked away during a day trip to a Washington lake and was later captured.[2] On 17 September, 2009 he escaped from a field trip organized by his mental hospital to the Spokane County Fair during an outing with 30 other Eastern State Hospital patients.[3] Paul was later captured in Goldendale, Washington on 20 September, 2009.[4] References ^ Union says it warned about mental patient outings ^ Union says it warned about mental patient outings ^ Union says it warned about mental patient outings ^ Escaped Insane Killer Captured After Four-Day Manhunt A tragic practical joke, where Phil Paul was given (unknown to him)PCP (angel dust) resulted in the death of this woman killed. Those seeing he ingested it, began to laugh at him, telling him what they had done. Phil began to hear loud voices, and didn't know how to stop them. Finally after several of these were negatively telling him a certain woman was a witch about to kill him, in what was believed as self defense, Phil killed her. As soon as he came to realize what he had done, he called 911 and waited for police to arrive. This is called Drug Induced Schizophrenia. Heavily drugged and treated as less than a person, with negative attitudes year after year, tearing him down, Phil fought to remember who he truly was in heart, soul and mind. He struggled back to feeling he did remember how much he cared about all others and through creativity in music, painting, and sculpting (much of which he learned on his own) he connected back to his true self and learned how to change the "channel" when negative thoughts/ideas came to him. This in spite of being over drugged and damage being done to his brain and other organs. He also discovered how to recognize the false, within himself and around him. Phil Paul has not been violent in any way, for 20 years. That's most of the time he has been afflicted with drug induced schizophrenia. Who he is, is a very caring individual, one brought up close to nature, having it mean a great deal to him. It is a fact that over the years and existing still, Phil Paul has been denied many rights that by law a mental patient has. He endures much accepted but illegal abusive treatment, denying him his right to refuse psychotic drugs that are known to be ineffective and damaging to him, included. He was awarded damages, for the known damage to him resulting in diabetes. He speaks up for rights being denied to others as well as himself sometimes, and that is very unpopular within the system it exits. He is maligned by press who refuse to print/air the good interviews about him. He is sensationalized and maligned and all he wants to do is help those others suffering the abuse as he, but less able to speak up, and enjoy a little more nature and freedom. He would never have been granted a conditional release 2 times by a judge if he had been a threat to anyone or not earned it. He was sent back to Eastern State Hospital without breaking any of the rules, 2 times by someone who has maligned him to cover up her misdeeds, when Phil stood up for his rights. Family and friends know these things. There is an ongoing fight on more than one front to document the truth. One is his book at his publisher. More is in the works so that people who care about truth and decency can understand that people with mental illness are PEOPLE, every situation is unique as each person is, and most of us have a bias thinking all people with mental illness are literally crazy, instead of realizing most have potential to be fulfilled, not denied. Phil has, as yet, to be allowed to be examined and treated by a psychiatrist with a drugs as last resort practice. Natural cures do exist. It is documented in studies that wealthier nations have much lower recovery rate of schizophrenia, due to the great amount of anti-psychotic drugs constantly administered, usually against a patients will. The greater recovery rates do definitely exist in the less wealthy countries.
