The Native American Composers Apprenticeship Project (NACAP) is a program dedicated to teaching Native American young people to compose concert music. Each year, a different string quartet is in residence, and the young composers work with a different Native American composer. In 2007 New York's WNYC aired a feature about the project on its music program Soundcheck.[1] Contents 1 Composers-in-residence 2 String Quartets-in-residence 3 References 4 External links 5 Listening 6 See also Composers-in-residence 2001-2002 - Brent Michael Davids (Mohican) 2003 - David Mallamud 2003 - Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate (Chickasaw) 2004-2010 - Raven Chacon (Navajo) 2006 - Adam Overton String Quartets-in-residence 2001 - Miró Quartet 2002 - Corigliano Quartet 2003 - Avalon Quartet 2004 - Calder Quartet 2005-2011 - ETHEL References ^ http://www.wnyc.org/shows/soundcheck/episodes/2007/10/29/segments/87834 External links Native American Composers Apprenticeship Project official site Listening NACAP Alumni Audio Samples See also First Nations Composer Initiative Native American music This article about a music organization is a stub.
