Kooman and Dimond (Michael Kooman (b. 1984) and Christopher Dimond) (b. 1979) are a musical theater writing team currently living in New York City. They are most known for their musicals Dani Girl, Golden Gate, and Homemade Fusion. They began working together under the tutelage of Milan Stitt at Carnegie Mellon University. Recently, they were invited to perform a concert of their music at the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center. They have also attended the Johnny Mercer Songwriting Workshop, as well as a Fellowship to the O'Neill Musical Theater Conference. It has subsequently been workshopped as part of Millikin University's New Musicals Workshop, culminating in a production of the latest incarnation of the show, which will occur in the spring of 2011. Dani Girl Dani Girl has been workshopped at Carnegie Mellon University, The Pennsylvania State University, The American Conservatory Theater, The Kennedy Center, The ASCAP/Disney Musical Theater Workshop, and CAP-21. Its professional premiere was produced in Barrie, Ontario by Talk is Free Theatre, directed by Richard Ouzounian and starred Gabi Epstein as Dani. Harvest Rain Theatre Company debuted the show internationally in Brisbane, Australia in 2010 directed by Carmen Glanville. The production featured Heidi Enchelmaier as Dani, Juanita Ellis-Gloster as Mother, Shaun Kohlman as Marty and Tyson Stuetz as Raph, and will have a return season in March 2011. Homemade Fusion Homemade Fusion is a song cycle, and was originally produced at Carnegie Mellon University, and moved on to venues such as The Pittsburgh CLO's Cabaret Space, The Zipper Theater, and Monday Nights New Voices Chicago. Selections from Homemade Fusion have been performed at several National Alliance for Musical Theater showcases, and are popular at colleges and cabaret venues across the country.
